LIFE RE-ENVISIONED

By way of brief introduction, my early career was focused on national television news and international documentary production in Canada where I was born and raised. I married an American and intended to be in the US for a few years while my husband, completed his studies. Instead, we have stayed, and I have been exceptionally fortunate to benefit from a breadth of opportunities to experience unanticipated transitions, personally and professionally.

At this juncture, I have garnered over 20 years of senior leadership roles in the nonprofit sector including executive director portfolios responsible for emergency shelter and transitional housing for women and children to special needs adoption and foster care, animal rescue and educational solutions for divergent learners.

As vice president of a community foundation, I enjoyed opportunities to oversee significant women and leadership forums and to support the success of catalytic, collaborative initiatives targeting homelessness, food and hunger and the creative arts.

In my role as an independent consultant, projects have included oversight of a comprehensive, groundbreaking report on poverty and linking the passion and experience of older adults with the literacy needs of academically at-risk young children.

I have lived/studied/worked/traveled in a wide spectrum of international settings. Cross-cultural experience, domestically and abroad, includes public television where I facilitated connections with diverse communities, on and off-air, and in the production of documentaries for broadcast and educational outreach from the Yukon to the Caribbean and from Haida Gwaii to Kenya, Tanzania and Niger.
